To Clerks of Sessions... A Per Capita Thank You and Invitation Request to share with your session.
Our presbytery, like our 172 sister presbyteries across the United States, is a governing body whose congregations are joyfully sent out into the world in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank your congregation for being an integral part of our presbytery. We are grateful that your session demonstrates our common ministry by participating in their per capita contribution.

I have attached an updated and corrected letter that was mailed to you earlier this week.

One more thing…You will be glad to know that Newark Presbytery’s per capita is one of the lowest in the Synod of the Northeast, set at $22.50 for 2011. In 2010, I introduced a listening initiative to visit with each session. During these visits I make it a point to affirm and celebrate the session’s unique ministry, and explore how new resources could empower new ministries. The per capita represents an investment by the session in the presbytery, synod, and General Assembly. It is reasonable that the session receive something in exchange. If I haven’t visited with your session, please ask your moderator to consider scheduling a GP visit at an upcoming session meeting. Thank you, again, for your ministry.
