PC of Upper Montclair to Host a Concert for Haiti

On Saturday, April 10, at 7:00 p.m. the Presbyterian Church of Upper
Montclair will host "An Evening of Virtuoso Brass and Trombone" featuring both the Brass Choir and Trombone Quartet comprised of faculty and students of Montclair State University's John J. Cali School of Music, including Donald Batchelder, Principal Trumpet of New York City Opera.  


Musical selections include Sonata Pian'e Forte by Giovanni Gabrieli, Boehme Concerto (a movement), Elizabethan Songbook by Eric Ewazen, and Quator de forme Liturgique by Jacques Charpentier.  Concluding the concert will be a performance of the magnificent "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral" (from Wagner's Lohengrin) by the combined forces at the concert - over 20 musicians - conducted by PCUM music director Stephen Culbertson.

All proceeds will benefit the International Medical Corps and Presbyterian Disaster Relief efforts in Haiti.  Light refreshments will be served after the concert.  Suggested donations are $20 for adults and $10 for students and children.  The Presbyterian Church of Upper Montclair is located at 53 Norwood Avenue, Upper Montclair, NJ.  For questions, call 973-746- 3854.
