If the First Church of Orange has voted to dissolve, why wait until that date in September when all their funds are exhausted?.
Is it because they are hoping that through some miracle their church will not have to dissolve?
Wouldn't it be better to cease immediately and let the remaining resources be used to transform the church into another role within the Presbytery, or to mothball it for the future?
Continuing is like plowing salt into a field.
The spirit of defeat is not what led our forebears to America. Nor in a contemporary society with its emphasis on winning, is the spirit of defeat going to fill our pews. Let's find another role for our third oldest church within our denomination so that apparent defeat can be turned into deferred victory.
How can this great place go stale?
What other role does the Presbytery have in mind? The members of First Church Orange feel no defeat, because in God tbere is no defeat What is mind boggling is that everyone at Presbytery cant wait to get their hands on the"Restricted Funds" The irony is that these funds are only restricted for use at First Church Orange . presbytery would rather turn us away on July 18,keep the building locked up ,then bring us back in September for their grand farewell. The audacity of all of you.!!.All the members of this church should skip this occasion let Mr. Yoho and his followers attend by themselves. In your own words Mr Yoho ,"You dont enen have tobe presbyterians, just leave."
