Dear friends of our Presbyterian family,
Many of you have heard Christi Boyd share stories in your church about marginalized farmers in Cameroon. You may have even already tasted the Fair Trade dried fruit produced in a project developed through the Joining Hands partnership between the Presbyterian Hunger program, my partners of RELUFA and US churches . Read further information shared by Christi about this great opportunity for partnership.
see: http://www.relufa.org/programs/economicjustice/trade/fairfruit.htm
If you are not yet familiar with Fair Fruit, the following is a great opportunity to get introduced and lend us a hand.
Last month, RELUFA worked with Fair Fruit fans in the Netherland to enter the project in an online voting competition for the 2011 Prize “For the World of Tomorrow”. From the 800 projects competing in the first round, we succeeded to get through to the top 40 contenders for the next – and last – voting round for the Public Prize. The 10,000 Euro prize will be used towards implementing our "Farm to Market" strategy to ensure longterm sustainability of the project and a better assured income for the Fair Fruit farmers. For you all this is an opportunity to support our project and its producers without any costsor special offering!
In this last round it really comes down to rallying all our fans, and set through them into motion a chain reaction for an exponentially increasing number of voters. Will you participate (again)? Deadline for voting is the 9th of November.
This round voting is much simpler:
1. Go to http://voordewereldvanmorgen.nl/project/fair-fruit ,
2. click on the green (stem) button
3. fill in your e-mail address
4. do the simple math problem (it’s probably a verification method)
5. and forward this call to your family, friends, colleagues, social circles and networks, mission committee, church members, youth group etc.
You can follow the score on http://voordewereldvanmorgen.nl/acties/wereldprijs/tussenstand?thema%5B58%5D=58 .
As it goes with these online competitions, it is from start to finish a fierce battle, a matter of giving it all, with in the end a last sprint to come through the finish line as first. Thank you in advance for your cheering and please let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for your prayers and faithful support for our partners, ministries, and family. Have a Blessed day!
Christi
